Leaving Santiago de Compostela we go to the wonderful city of Lugo, famous for its incredible and well-preserved Roman wall that surrounds the entire historic center. We will also visit the majestic and surprising Playa de las Catedrales and, if the tide allows it, we will be able to enjoy its rock formations made by the erosion of the sea.
Route:
We will visit the city of Lugo with a guided tour of its historic center of approximately one hour and a half, discovering its famous Roman wall, its Cathedral and its medieval streets.
After visiting the city, we will head to Ribadeo, a small coastal town in northern Galicia famous for the beauty of its streets and a history closely linked to Galician emigration.
After that we will head to the Aguas Santas Beach, or as it is popularly known, Las Catedrales Beach, whose name is due to the rocky forms that houses the fine white sand evoking the flying buttresses of the Gothic cathedrals.
We will enjoy a walk through this place taking advantage of the low tide to sneak under the arches, which have a height of more than 30 meters. Absolutely awesome! As you walk along the beach, you will be struck by the sound of the waves crashing against these stone giants. Its beauty makes it a Natural Monument and is one of the best beaches in Europe.
